Building on the methodological discussions of the first workshop, WG4 plans a second two-day event in spring 2028 with a strong hands-on and training-oriented focus on digital humanities methods. The “Liselotte Hackathon,” to be held at Heidelberg Castle, brings together court historians, digital humanists, and designers. The workshop uses selected letters by Elizabeth Charlotte of the Palatinate (1652–1722), known as Liselotte, as a shared corpus for data analysis and visualization. Liselotte’s extensive correspondence provides detailed accounts of everyday court life at the French court, including bodily experiences related to sound, smell, hygiene, and spatial conditions. The hackathon format fosters methodological experimentation, skills development, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while critically assessing the potential of digital tools for analysing and communicating historical sensory experiences.
